Format: each module has 27 multiple-choice questions in 40 minutes. This course requires 3 modules, so the full sitting runs 120 minutes, and each module is reported on a 1.0 to 9.0 scale.
Note that Biology appears on the optional-module list for this course: beyond the compulsory Mathematics 1, you pick any two of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics 2. Candidates drawn to the biotechnology side of the course, and strongest in biology, can build a three-module combination that plays to those strengths.

02 Key Dates and Registration (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau)
- Test window: for 2027 entry the ESAT window runs 12 to 16 October 2026. Applicants in the October-deadline round must take this sitting, and booking closes on 28 September 2026.
- Fixed dates for mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau: candidates in these regions must sit the ESAT on 12 or 13 October 2026.
- Mature applicants in the January round: their sitting runs 4 to 8 January 2027, with 6 January 2027 as the fixed date for mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. Standard H810 applicants cannot use the January sitting; the October sitting is the one that counts.
- Registration and delivery: the ESAT is run by UAT-UK and delivered by Pearson VUE as a computer-based test. Make sure you complete the official booking before 28 September 2026.

03 How to Prepare for the H810 ESAT with FrontierVUE
One fact to get straight first: the ESAT replaced the NSAA and ENGAA from 2024, and no official ESAT past papers have ever been released. 04 Cambridge-Specific Points to Watch
- The score starts working before the interview. Cambridge's official wording is that Colleges use the ESAT result to help decide interview shortlisting, which means an H810 applicant's preparation must be finished before the October 2026 window. There is no route of securing an interview first and improving the score later.

- Module choice is a strategic decision. Biology sits on this course's optional list, which makes it worth serious consideration for applicants drawn to the biotechnology side.
