For the three Computer Science courses (G400, G403, GN42), the official wording is "All applicants will be required to take TMUA except for applicants who are eligible for a Contextual Offer". TMUA scores are assessed alongside GCSEs, contextual indicators and predicted grades to determine offers. Warwick publishes no fixed cut-off score for these courses.
For the two Data Science courses (7G73, G304), the TMUA is optional: most offers include the option to meet requirements via 5.0 in TMUA or grade 2 in any STEP, and the university states explicitly that "Applicants who do not take TMUA will not be at a disadvantage".

The TMUA is run by UAT-UK and delivered by Pearson VUE, and registration goes through UAT-UK / Pearson VUE. The test has two papers of 20 multiple-choice questions each, 75 minutes per paper (150 minutes in total): Paper 1 tests applications of mathematical knowledge, Paper 2 tests mathematical reasoning and logic, and results are reported on a 1.0 to 9.0 scale.
There are two sittings for 2027 entry: October 2026 and January 2027. Candidates in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau sit on fixed dates:
- October sitting: 15 to 16 October 2026
- January sitting: 8 January 2027
Warwick's official wording for these courses places no restriction on which sitting you use, and both sittings fall within the 2027 entry cycle, so choose the one that fits your application timeline. Test centre availability and registration windows are set by UAT-UK / Pearson VUE, so register early.

04 Warwick-Specific Points to Watch
A few points that are easy to misread:
- The Contextual Offer exemption applies to the required-test policy. The requirement for the three Computer Science courses (G400, G403, GN42) has one exception: applicants eligible for a Contextual Offer are not required to sit the TMUA. Eligibility is determined by Warwick.
- There is no published cut-off for Computer Science. The official position is that TMUA scores are assessed alongside GCSEs, contextual indicators and predicted grades to determine offers, so do not treat any number circulating online as an official threshold for G400, G403 or GN42.
- The Data Science 5.0 is not a Computer Science threshold. TMUA 5.0 (or grade 2 in any STEP) is the optional route included in most offers for 7G73 and G304; it belongs to the Data Science policy and cannot be transplanted onto the Computer Science courses.
- Skipping the TMUA does not hurt a Data Science application, but taking it adds a route. Warwick states that applicants who do not take the TMUA will not be at a disadvantage; conversely, a strong mathematician who scores 5.0 gains an extra way to meet the offer, and grade 2 in any STEP works too.
